The candidate will work in a fast-paced startup environment, working on multiple, simultaneous projects. Key responsibilities will include:

• Perform process optimization conjugation agents
  • Assist in sourcing and pricing of raw materials
  • Refine purification schemes for higher process yields
  • Create and implement in-process assays for process control
  • Document and validate preparation and characterization procedures under GLP-like conditions

• Assist in scaling up of key carbohydrate ligands

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Advanced degree in synthetic organic or saccharide chemistry with an emphasis on process development or process chemistry.
• At least 5+ years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
• Experience with peptide coupling/conjugation agents (i.e. NHS esters), or saccharides is highly desired.
• Experience working in an industrial laboratory/plant environment including:
  
  • Highly skilled in common synthetic techniques and purification schemes
  • Ability to manipulate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Good organizational skills and a demonstrated experience with keeping a detailed laboratory notebook
  • Demonstrated experience working routinely with 50g – 1kg scales
