April 12, 2007 - SmartCells Completes Series C Financing
SmartCells, Inc. completed its $1.22 million Series C financing on April 11, 2007, with both returning and new investors participating. Returning investors include members of the Boston Harbor Angels (formerly the Boston Chapter of the Keiretsu Forum), Angel Healthcare Investors, Beacon Street Angels and Cherrystone Angels. New investors include additional members of those groups as well as members of the Common Angels (Boston, MA).

Dr. Todd C. Zion, SmartCells' co-founder, President and CEO said, “The proceeds from our third round of financing will help us expand testing of SmartInsulin, our glucose-responsive, once-a-day insulin formulation, in large animal models and to continue our manufacturing development work. I am pleased that so many of our Series A and B investors participated again and that new investors from Boston's leading angel investing groups invested in this round”.
