August 1, 2007 – SmartCells, Inc. Awarded “Fast-Track” SBIR by NIH/NIDDK
SmartCells, Inc. received notice that it has been awarded $283,515 in Phase I funding as part of a “Fast-Track” SBIR grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The grant was awarded to support stability testing of the company’s glucose-regulated insulin formulations.  After successful completion of the Phase I work, $2,445,628 in Phase II funding will be available for continued manufacturing development.
